Cape Town Film Production

Cape Town film production harks back to 1906 when an England versus South Africa cricket match at Newlands was shot by an amateur cameraman and screened at the Tivoli Music Hall in Cape Town. In 1931 the film society in Cape Town was formed, but it was the end of apartheid rule that really jump-started Cape Town film production.
