Fish Hoek was established in 1918. There have been no liquor stores established in Fish Hoek, due to a Deed of Grant in which was written a clause of condition that there should be no wine house on the property when the first grant of Crown Land in Fish Hoek was given by Lord Charles Somerset in 1818 to Andries Bruyn.
